Acquisition Supplement for CMMI for Development - TBA

Acquirers tend to disengage from a project once the supplier is hired, and they discover too late that the project is not on schedule, deadlines will not be met, the technology selected is not viable, and the project has failed. However, many organizations have not invested in the capabilities necessary to select the right suppliers and effectively manage projects in an acquisition environment.

The CMMI Acquisition model provides guidance for improving an organization’s capability to initiate and manage the acquisition of products and services that meet the needs of customers and end users. These best practices help define requirements to identify capable suppliers and vendors that can help reduce costs, manage quality, increase efficiency, and mitigate delays
